Dan Bartlett to Join Public Strategies, Inc.

AUSTIN, Texas - (October 28, 2007) — Public Strategies, Inc. today announced the addition of Dan Bartlett to the firm in the role of senior strategist. Bartlett is a former Counselor to President Bush and has worked for the last seven years at the White House.

In his capacity as Counselor to the President, Bartlett was responsible for all aspects of President Bush's strategic communications planning and the formulation of policy and implementation of the President's agenda. He also oversaw the White House Press Office and the Offices of Communications, Media Affairs, and Speechwriting.
Prior to being named Counselor to the President, Bartlett was Assistant to the President for Communications and White House Communications Director. Before that he was Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy to then Counselor to the President, Karen Hughes.

Dan Bartlett served as a senior spokesman and Director of Rapid Response for the Bush for President campaign in Austin, Texas. He has served President Bush since 1993, working on both successful campaigns for Governor of Texas. From 1994 to 1998, Bartlett worked in the Governor's Office as Deputy to the Policy Director. During the 1998 re-election campaign, he served as Issues Director. Before joining President Bush, Mr. Bartlett worked for Karl Rove and Company, an Austin-based political consulting firm. He has served the President for more than 10 years.

He earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Texas at Austin. He will join Public Strategies on November 5, 2007.
