His work with Public Strategies
Bill Lauderback counsels Public Strategies’ clients on strategic campaign development and execution with particular emphasis on government relations, drawing on his more than 25 years of senior-level experience in business management, government affairs, public policy and communications.

His earlier work
Lauderback served as executive vice president of the American Conservative Union, a free market oriented grassroots lobbying organization. Before joining ACU, he was executive vice president of Momentum Securities LLC, where he played an integral role in building the firm from a start-up to one of the nation’s highest volume electronic trading operations. Momentum Securities was acquired by E*Trade Financial Corp. in 2002. Earlier, Lauderback was vice president for governmental affairs of the Texas Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, as well as vice president of operations at Bonner & Associates in Washington, D.C.

Lauderback has also held senior management positions in government at the federal and state levels. He was deputy assistant secretary for gas and petroleum technology in the U.S. Department of Energy during the administration of President George H. W. Bush. He also served as executive director of the Texas Department of Commerce and as special assistant to the governor of Texas.

Lauderback served in senior posts in the 1980 Reagan/Bush presidential campaign and in the 1994 campaign of U.S. Senator Bill Frist (R-Tenn.).

He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and has been a member of the faculty at the university’s McCombs School of Business.
